China's iron and steel industry accounts for about 15% of the country's total carbon emissions, and low carbon emission reduction in the iron and steel industry is crucial for the country to achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality". It is understood that the average carbon emission per tonne of steel in China's iron and steel enterprises is 1.765 tonnes, of which 2.5 tonnes are emitted from the blast furnace process, 2.2 tonnes from the converter process, and 0.5 tonnes from the electric furnace process. It has become a global consensus that only by applying hydrogen energy can the steel industry be decarbonised in depth! A few months ago, Switzerland started construction of the first hydrogen steel plant, Japanese steel mills have also gone ahead, Chinese steel mills are not far behind, but also in action. Last year, a large steel plant under the Baowu Group started a hydrogen-rich carbon cycle blast furnace pilot project, in which two process (gas) compressors supplied by Qugong were involved as key equipment, and the pilot project was a success. This year, the second phase of the pilot project was started, and because of the excellent performance of the key equipment provided by Qugong in the first phase of the pilot project, Qugong won the trust and got the opportunity to provide the key equipment again.
